Exit Blueprint

Build a believable, evidence-backed growth story that makes your business more desirable to a buyer without wandering into fantasy spreadsheet territory.
Build. Grow. Exit. Properly.

1. Business Snapshot

Start with where the business is now. Buyers do not buy fairy dust. They buy evidence, assets, systems, profit and believable opportunity.

2. Choose the Blueprint Period

Choose whether this is a sharper 5-year plan or a longer 10-year strategic blueprint.

The aim is not to claim the next owner can magically double everything by Tuesday. The aim is to show where growth could come from, what evidence supports it, and how it could realistically be achieved.

3. Proof Before Potential

This section gives the blueprint credibility. The stronger the proof, the less it smells like hopeful nonsense.

4. Growth Opportunities

Add the realistic routes to growth. Each one should have a reason, evidence, and a route to delivery.

5. Plausibility Test

Every opportunity must survive the “would a buyer believe this?” test.

Weak phrases to avoid: “huge potential”, “just needs marketing”, “easy growth”, “new owner could just grow it”. Buyers hear that and mentally reach for the big red discount button.

6. Year-by-Year Growth Plan

Add realistic annual figures and the actions behind them. Figures without method are just numbers wearing a cheap suit.

7. Buyer Excitement

Translate the opportunity into buyer language.

8. Risks and Assumptions

A balanced plan is more believable than a glossy sales pitch with jazz hands.
